Dr Wendi Liu graduated with a BEng degree in the department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering jointly with University of Strathclyde, University of Glasgow and Harbin Engineering University in 2011. He further pursued his study for a doctoral research on the topic of “Computational modelling on the efficiency improvement for marine renewable energy devices base on CFD and Fluid-Structure-Interaction (FSI) method” by using in-house fluid-structure interaction (finite volume and finite element coupling) FORTRAN 95 code at the same institution since October 2011. Since October 2014, he has become a part-time Research Assistant with the project of “Driving down the cost of offshore wind in UK waters funded by TLPwind UK”. On 29th November 2015, he qualified for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy for research in the department of NAOME. Since March 2016, he has been appointed as a full-time Research Associate in the Department of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering, University of Strathclyde.
